"Sada Suhaagan Raho!"Every woman dreams about this blessing all her life! Even me. Ever since I was a little girl, I had always dreamt about my prince charming arriving on a white horse and me, dolled up in a wonderful bridal attire looking nothing less than a princess waiting for him. But as the countdown for the big day starts ticking, tension rises by the minute. I’ve got to look perfect. Especially my skin.
So, how did I cope with this pressure? No, I didn’t go parlours and spent a massive amount on artificial products and procedures. I found rescue at home. Some natural ingredients and one ultimate go-to nourishing treatment- Boro Plus!
All you have to do is follow this step-by-step procedure rigorously until D- day arrives.
Step 1-Daily Cleansing with Milk Cream
Pre-wedding functions can get to you and your skin. It’s essential that you cleanse your skin from deep within every morning. Begin your day with a natural cleansing treatment of milkcream and honey. Mix the ingredients in equal proportions, massage in a circular motion and wipe away using cotton pads. Follow this ritual every morning until the big day and I assure you, your skin is going to be as soft as a rose petal.
Once or twice a week, in place of your daily cleanser, exfoliate with sugar or crushed apples with cinnamon. It is sure to remove all dead cells and give you a radiant glow.
Step 2-Tone with a Lemon
Toners are used to repair your skin's natural pH levels which were perhaps lost during cleansing. The easiest way to tone your skin after your cleansing routine is with lemon and a little bit of natural rose water. Mix the ingredients together, apply onto your face, leave it for 20 mins and wash off with cold water. Make sure you follow this ritual only once a day, either in the morning or at night.
Step 3-Nourish with Aloe Vera Gel
Always remember, moisturizing is a must after every cleansing and toning ritual. You can moisturize your skin with some Aloe Vera gel, almond milk or olive oil. Some people may find it cumbersome to apply the gel off a stem; in that case you can opt for any natural lotions available in the market. I highly recommend the Boro Plus badam and milk lotion enriched with the goodness of real almonds and milk cream. It saves your effort and time and makes you feel fresh and smell good always.
Step 4-SoneSaNikhaar with Besan
Besan ubtan is a miraculous beauty recipe that every bride should incorporate in her pre-wedding beauty regime. This treatment is sure to resolve all your skin &beauty concerns leaving it with a natural glow. All you have to do is mix 2 teaspoonful of besan with 1/4 teaspoonful of turmeric powder and a little bit of milk- voila, your desi million dollar glow treatment is ready! Apply this mask once a day, after your cleansing, toning and moisturizing ritual. Keep it for 15 mins and wash it off with luke warm water.
If your skin is prone to acne, besanubtan might not work for you. Hence you can replace it with a Neem and Sandalwood pack. Neem’s antiseptic properties make sure that no pimples pop up to ruin your big day while sandal wood ensures that bridal glow.
P: S Besan/Sandalwood can make your skin a little too dry, hence once you get done with this ritual, moisturize with a nourishing lotion. I once again recommend Boro Plus, there is a luxerant variant available too called ‘Cocoa Soft’. Do try it!
This easy, step-by-step regime will ensure that your skin is in its best form on your big day.
