I am a housewife, and even though it seems like a housewife does not have a job, I am on my feet even before the alarm goes off.If I said that being a housewife does not take a toll on my skin, I’d be lying, because it does. And the worst part about it all are those horrid dark circles that kept coming back. So I searched, experimented and came up with solutions; solutions that if not completely get rid of the dark circles, help lessen the marks.

If you’ve read this far, you are definitely interested in the remedies and trust me when I say, they will work wonders for you. What makes this better, they are all natural and home-made remedies.

1. Tomato juice:

This remedy is simple, all I do is mix one teaspoon of tomato juice with one teaspoon on lemon juice and apply it on my eyes. I leave it there for 10-15 minutes and wash it off later. Do this twice every day, preferably as soon as you wake up and before you sleep.

2. Cucumbers:

When I was young, I noticed a lot of beauty parlours showed women with cucumbers on their eyes. Back then I didn’t know the reason for that, but then later when I tried it out I realized that placing a slice of cucumber on the eyes does reduce the marks of dark circles. But make sure to chill those slices in the refrigerator before placing them on your eyes. 10 minutes should do the trick.

3. Cold Tea Bags:

This one may not be a natural solution, but it sure is a pretty good one. Dip green tea or chamomile tea bags in water and then keep them in the refrigerator for a good 30 minutes or so. Remove them and place them on your eyes. It may sound weird at first, but it worked perfectly for me just like the other solutions on this list of mine.

4. Yoga:

If you are looking for a yoga pose for your eyes, you’re going to be disappointed. Instead this trick has more to do with the relation between stress and dark circles. The way I see it, the easiest and also a peaceful way to get rid of dark circles is by doing yoga or meditating. These help you get rid of unnecessary stress and in turn dark circles.

5. Almond Oil:

This is something to try before you sleep off. Gently massage almond oil on your eye and leave them over night. Once you wake up in the morning, make sure you wash the oil off with cold water. To be honest I don’t know how it works, but it does. And that is why you’re reading this in my list.

6. Beauty sleep:

If you don’t know what beauty sleep is, it means sleeping for more than or close to 8 hours. I’ve read that sleeping for 8 hours a day considerably reduces dark circles. Another point to note is to make sure to moisturize your skin with a good moisturizer which will work its magic while you sleep. My recommendation: BoroPlus moisturizing lotion.

7. Mint leaves:

So this is what you could do, take a couple of mint leaves, crush them and apply that paste on your eyes. Leave it there for 10 minutes and wipe it off with a soft cloth. They eyes are a sensitive area so make sure to go easy on them or you might make those marks worse.

I have many more skin remedies which have worked for me as well as others who I have recommended these to. But the ones mentioned above were the ones that are easy to try and have worked wonders for me. Trust me when I say that no matter how old you are, taking care of your skin must be your first priority.
